about

A 'conceptual music' inquiry, observing the 'edge' between melodic pitch and non-melodic (noise?) pitch. Using only improvised sustains (on trumpet and keyboard synth), specific directions were derived from rehearsal and discussion (between Motoko Honda and myself).
Many thanks to Motoko for her intelligence and expertise. Also thanks to Christian Wolff for writing the liner notes. (Having been influenced by The New York School of composition, I was most grateful and flattered for his observations.)
Feel free to contact me for pressed copies of the CD.
